Web Design & Marketing Agency in Ghent

Web design and marketing that grows Ghent businesses.

Ghent has about 335 higher-education students for every 1,000 residents, more than three times the ratio in greater Antwerp, so many of your customers are young, quick to compare and reading in Dutch or English. We build Ghent websites and run the SEO and ads that fill them, at fixed prices in euros with written replies within one working day.

Sound familiar?

Four reasons Belgian websites lose customers.

Each one is common, measurable and fixable. Here is what goes wrong, and exactly what we do about it.

01The problem

Half your visitors arrive on a phone

Belgian browsing is now split almost evenly between phones and desktops, and the phone half decides fastest. A slow page, a language switcher that drops people back on the home page, or a form that fights the keyboard sends them straight back to the search results.

49.63% of web page views in Belgium came from mobile phones in September 2026, against 47.87% from desktops Source: StatCounter Global Stats
How we fix it

Quick on a phone, in every language

  • Phone layouts designed first, then widened for desktop
  • A language switcher that keeps visitors on the same page in Dutch, French or English
  • Core Web Vitals targets in the contract, tested on each language version
02The problem

Customers search in Dutch or French and find a rival

A buyer in Antwerp searches in Dutch, one in Liège in French, and many people in Brussels in English. If only one language version of your site is built to rank, two of those three buyers may never see you.

87.88% of searches in Belgium ran on Google in September 2026, with Bing on 8.61% Source: StatCounter Global Stats
How we fix it

Get found in each language you sell in

  • Separate URLs and hreflang tags, so Google shows each reader the right language
  • Keyword research done natively in Dutch and French, not translated from English
  • Google Business Profile, local SEO and Google Ads set up language by language
03The problem

Every competitor has a website. Few of them convert.

Almost nine in ten Belgian firms with ten or more staff already run a site, so simply being online sets you apart from nobody. What wins the enquiry is a clear price logic, proof written in the reader's own language and a reply that lands before a rival's does.

89.0% of Belgian enterprises with ten or more staff had a website in 2025, against 79.0% across the EU Source: Eurostat, ICT usage in enterprises (isoc_ciweb), 2025
How we fix it

Turn more of your visitors into enquiries

  • Pages that settle price, process and proof before the buyer has to ask
  • Forms, error messages and confirmation emails in the visitor's language
  • Instant lead alerts, so no enquiry sits unanswered overnight
04The problem

Belgian accessibility and cookie rules now reach small sites

Belgium's accessibility law has covered e-commerce since 28 June 2025, and it excludes micro-enterprises only until 28 June 2030. The data protection authority's cookie checklist also rules out an 'accept all' button unless a 'refuse all' button sits on the same layer.

2030 the year Belgium's temporary exclusion of micro-enterprises from its accessibility law for e-commerce and banking services ends, on 28 June Source: Law of 5 November 2023, article 40, Moniteur belge
How we fix it

Compliance built into every language version

  • Every language version tested to WCAG 2.2 AA with keyboard and screen reader
  • Cookie banners with refuse as easy as accept, and nothing loaded before a choice
  • An accessibility statement and privacy notice in each language the site uses
The Ghent market

A student city with a working port.

Ghent has 273,665 residents and 90,414 students in higher education, about 335 for every 1,000 people, against roughly 101 in greater Antwerp. Around the city, East Flanders counts 119,325 business locations. Cafés, landlords, shops and training providers here sell to a large, young audience that compares options on a phone before it chooses.

We build Ghent sites in Dutch first, with English pages wherever you sell to international students, researchers or visitors. Pages load fast on mid-range phones, menus and price lists stay easy to update, and local SEO covers the neighbourhoods you actually serve, from the Binnenstad to Gentbrugge and Drongen.

Straight answers

Questions Ghent businesses ask.

How much does a website cost in Ghent?

A site of up to five pages starts at €350, an online store at €700, and most bespoke 6 to 15 page sites come to €600 to €800. LUNIDEV's February 2026 guide puts Belgian freelancers at €30 to €80 an hour and a simple business-card site at €500 to €1,500. Our quote is a single fixed figure in euros, confirmed in writing.

Do I need English pages to reach students in Ghent?

Often. Ghent has more than 90,000 students in higher education, and part of that audience reads English more easily than Dutch. We keep Dutch as the main version and add English where it brings enquiries, so you are not paying to translate pages nobody reads.

Can you build a site for student rooms (koten)?

Yes. We build listing pages with photos, prices, availability dates and house rules, an enquiry form that asks the questions you need answered, and simple editing so you can mark rooms as let. Pages are written in Dutch and English and load quickly on a phone.

Can you help a Ghent supplier win work in the port area?

Yes. Industrial buyers compare suppliers on capability, certification and lead time. We build pages around those checks, publish data sheets as fast web pages rather than heavy files, and add a quote form that captures volume and deadline.

How can a Ghent café or shop stand out on Google?

Start with Google Maps. We align your Google Business Profile with your site, keep opening hours and menus current, ask happy customers for reviews and answer them, and target searches for your street or neighbourhood, from the Binnenstad to Sint-Amandsberg.
