Sound familiar?

Four reasons Dutch websites lose customers.

Each one is common, measurable and fixable. Here is what goes wrong, and exactly what we do about it.

01The problem

Your site stalls on a phone

Many buyers first see your business on a phone. A page that loads slowly or hides the next step loses them in seconds, and few of them come back to try again.

48% of mobile sites passed Google's Core Web Vitals in the July 2025 HTTP Archive data, which leaves most of the web slower than it should be Source: HTTP Archive Web Almanac 2025
How we fix it

Built for the phone, then the desktop

  • Mobile layouts designed first, with thumb-sized buttons and short pages
  • Core Web Vitals targets agreed in the contract and checked before launch
  • A visible next step on every page: request a quote, book or send a message
02The problem

You compete with all of Europe on one results page

Dutch buyers read English so well that they compare you with suppliers far beyond the Netherlands. If you are not near the top of Google, in the map results or in AI answers, the shortlist forms without you.

How we fix it

Get found in Dutch and in English

  • SEO for the searches your buyers make, in each language you sell in
  • Google Business Profile and local SEO for every town you serve
  • Google Ads in Dutch and English, measured on enquiries rather than clicks
03The problem

Clicks arrive, enquiries do not

A visitor who cannot find the price logic, the proof or a short way to ask a question simply closes the tab. A slow reply loses most of the rest.

How we fix it

More of your visitors become enquiries

  • Pages that answer price, process and proof questions up front
  • Forms short enough to finish on a phone
  • Automatic confirmation emails and instant lead alerts for your team
04The problem

Regulators are checking Dutch websites

The Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens reviews cookie banners and warns firms whose banners mislead, and the accessibility law has covered e-commerce since 28 June 2025. Either can turn your website into a compliance problem.

Straight answers

Questions Dutch businesses ask.

How much does a website cost in the Netherlands?

Our prices start at €350 for a site of up to five pages and €700 for a webshop, and a bespoke 6 to 15 page site usually comes to €600 to €800. By comparison, Searchlab's February 2026 guide puts a professional SME site at €4,000 to €8,000 and an agency-built webshop at €10,000 to €30,000 or more. The calculator prices your exact scope, and the fixed figure in euros is confirmed in writing.

What is included in the price?

Each site includes mobile-first design, testing to WCAG 2.2 AA for the Dutch accessibility law, a cookie banner built to the standard the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens checks, a privacy statement page set up for the GDPR (the AVG), Core Web Vitals targets in the contract, GA4 with Consent Mode v2, on-page SEO, and full ownership of your domain, code and content. Copywriting, a second language and features such as online booking are priced in the calculator.

Do Dutch customers need a Dutch-language website?

Not always. The Netherlands ranks first of 123 countries on EF's 2025 English Proficiency Index, so English works for many B2B and international audiences. Consumers, local services and public bodies usually expect Dutch. We plan which pages need which language before we quote.

What does the AP look for in a cookie banner?

Misleading design. The Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens has warned more than 200 organisations about misleading banners and opened investigations into those that did not fix them. We give accept and reject equal weight, fire nothing before consent and log every choice.

Does the accessibility law apply to my Dutch webshop?

If you sell to consumers online and are not a micro-enterprise, very likely. The Dutch implementation of the European Accessibility Act has applied since 28 June 2025, and the ACM enforces it. We build to WCAG 2.2 AA by default, so the answer does not change the project.

How do we stand out among 2.4 million Dutch businesses?

By being specific. With 2,433,985 businesses in the Netherlands, most of them one-person firms, generic claims disappear. We position you on what buyers in your niche actually compare, show named people and real evidence, and keep the enquiry route short. Nearly nine in ten Dutch searches run on Google, so every page is built to rank as well.
