Web Design & Marketing Agency in Helsinki

Web design and marketing that grows Helsinki businesses.

Helsinki is officially bilingual, and one resident in five has a mother tongue other than Finnish or Swedish, so a single-language website misses part of the city. We build Finnish, Swedish and English sites for Helsinki businesses and run the SEO and ads that fill them, at fixed prices in euros with written replies within one working day.

Sound familiar?

Four reasons Finnish websites lose customers.

Each one is common, measurable and fixable. Here is what goes wrong, and exactly what we do about it.

01The problem

Your site was built for a desk, and half your visitors are on a phone

In Finland, phones now account for almost as many page views as computers. A site designed on a wide screen and squeezed onto a phone hides its prices, shrinks its buttons and loses the visitor before the first scroll.

48.4% of web page views in Finland came from mobile phones in September 2026, almost level with desktops on 50.0% Source: StatCounter Global Stats
How we fix it

One site that works on both screens

  • Layouts drawn at phone width first, then widened for the desktop buyers who still compare on a big screen
  • Core Web Vitals targets in the contract, tested on real handsets before launch
  • Prices, contact routes and the quote form visible without hunting on either device
02The problem

Your site speaks one language, your buyers use two or three

Finland has two national languages, and many firms also sell to buyers who read English. Half of Finnish firms with ten or more staff already publish in more than one language, so a single-language site looks smaller than it is.

50.2% of Finnish firms with 10 or more staff have website content in at least two languages, against 29.5% across the EU (2025) Source: Eurostat, isoc_ciweb 2025
How we fix it

Finnish, Swedish and English, planned together

  • Each language version planned in the sitemap before design, with real pages rather than a translation widget
  • Separate URLs and hreflang tags, so Google shows each visitor the right version
  • Forms, confirmation emails and receipts in the language the visitor chose
03The problem

Buyers search, and the competitor with the better page wins

Nearly nine in ten Finnish searches run on Google, and Finnish is a heavily inflected language: a buyer may type the town or service in several different forms. Pages written around one keyword spelling miss many of the searches that should reach you.

86.31% of searches in Finland ran on Google in September 2026, with Bing on 5.6% and Yandex on 4.07% Source: StatCounter Global Stats
How we fix it

Found in Finnish, for the words buyers really use

  • Keyword research in Finnish that covers the inflected forms of your services and towns
  • A Google Business Profile in step with your site, with reviews answered in the reviewer's language
  • Google Ads for high-intent searches while organic rankings build
04The problem

Online shops now answer to Finland's accessibility law

Since 28 June 2025, most web shops selling to Finnish consumers have had to meet the accessibility requirements of the Act on the Provision of Digital Services, and Traficom supervises them. Its cookie rules are strict too: no pre-ticked boxes, and no consent assumed from browser settings.

€2m turnover or balance-sheet ceiling for the micro-enterprise exemption, which also requires fewer than 10 staff; every other consumer web shop is covered Source: Traficom, scope of the Act on the Provision of Digital Services
How we fix it

Accessibility and consent, built in

  • Every page checked against the WCAG 2.1 A and AA criteria the Act names, and tested to WCAG 2.2 AA as our own standard
  • Cookie banners that follow Traficom's guidance: nothing pre-ticked, no consent from continued use, no cookies on legitimate interest
  • A privacy notice for the GDPR and the Data Protection Act that matches what the site really collects
The Helsinki market

Three languages, one demanding city.

Helsinki had 694,392 residents at the end of 2025 and 81,516 business establishments in 2024. It is bilingual by government decree, 37,349 residents speak Swedish as their first language, and 21.2% have a foreign mother tongue. The city also holds 42.8% of Finland's information and communication jobs, so many buyers know exactly what a good site looks like.

We build Helsinki sites for that mix. Finnish, Swedish and English versions share one structure and are planned before design, pages load quickly on a phone, and each language is set up so Google serves it to the right visitor. Local SEO covers the districts and neighbouring cities you genuinely serve, and every enquiry is traced to its source.

Straight answers

Questions Helsinki businesses ask.

How much does a website cost in Helsinki?

A Helsinki business can launch a site of up to five pages from €350 or an online store from €750. Bespoke sites of 6 to 15 pages generally cost €650 to €850, and Swedish or English versions are priced openly in the calculator. The written proposal fixes the total in euros before work begins.

Does a Helsinki business need a Swedish website?

Not always, but often. Helsinki is a bilingual municipality, and 37,349 residents speak Swedish as their first language. If you sell to consumers, to the public sector or to Swedish-speaking firms, a Swedish version is usually worth it. We look at who your customers are before recommending it, and price it separately so you can decide.

Should we add English for Helsinki's international residents?

For most consumer-facing businesses, yes. 21.2% of Helsinki residents have a mother tongue other than Finnish or Swedish, and English is the language many of them use with businesses. We build the English version with its own URLs and search setup, so it ranks rather than sitting behind a language switch.

Can you build a product site for a Helsinki software company?

Yes. Helsinki has 28,041 jobs in programming and IT consultancy, so your buyers and recruits compare sites closely. We build product pages around the problems you solve, pricing that is easy to read, demo and trial routes tracked from first click, and careers pages in English for international hires.

Can you help a Helsinki restaurant take more direct bookings?

Yes. Food and drink service employs 16,213 people in Helsinki, and diners pick a table on their phones in seconds. We build fast menus in Finnish, Swedish and English, put the booking button on every screen and connect your reservation system, so more covers are booked without paying commission.

Do you work with businesses in Espoo and Vantaa too?

Yes. Like Helsinki, Espoo and Vantaa are bilingual municipalities under the same decree, and we work across the whole capital region. Delivery is remote, so your postcode changes nothing about the price, the timeline or who runs your project.
